About Me
Hello. I’m Ed Grace. I adore live drawing and am passionate about visual communication and storytelling. I’ve been drawing live for over fifteen years and still get an enormous buzz from working live, thinking on my feet, multi-tasking and problem solving.
When I’m on a scribing job or workshop I am totally committed to the task and if I’m not actively drawing will be preparing for the next round or scrutinising and improving what I’ve already done.
I pick up complex concepts quickly, helping me to bring a well-informed, fresh perspective to your subject. At longer or multi-day sessions I absorb, understand and contextualise huge amounts of information and bring my own intelligence, broad general knowledge and cultural sensitivity to bear on it.
Although most of this information doesn’t stick in the long term – there’s only so much space in my brain – I am well used to becoming a temporary authority on topics as wide-ranging as 3D printing for spaceflight applications, the lifestyles and spending habits of key demographics and the decolonisation of museum collections. I can edit and reword information on the fly, and in my writing and drawing always strive for clarity and simplicity without compromising nuance or depth. More than one client has remarked that it’s refreshing to work with a visual artist with impeccable spelling.
