I am a freelance illustrator, and live illustrator. I’ve just launched this website to showcase my live illustration work. I turn up at workshops, ideation sessions, seminars, discussions and events and create hand-drawn (and sometimes digital) documents of what takes place, live.
I’ve been a freelance illustrator for about twenty years and I’ve been drawing live for over fifteen years. Like a lot of creative people I get the occasional bout of imposter syndrome, but then I reflect on the golden moments when some mega-brained bonafide EXPERT has looked at what I’ve drawn and their eyes have lit up because I’ve expressed something about their topic in a totally new way.
I haven’t been immersed in any single workplace for a long time, but I have slotted into a lot of different teams from a lot of different industries in a lot of high pressure situations. I’ve spent hours and hours and hours distilling information, ideas and emotions into easily-accessible notes and drawings, facilitated the birth of hundreds of product concepts and met a lot of fascinating people along the way.
